This modern shrug features a generous body and wide ribbed collar and looks great over a fitted top and jeans. My pattern has been specifically designed with the crochet beginner in mind and uses only simple stitches. If you can work in rows making basic stitches (sl, sc, hdc, dc) you have the skills to make this shrug!

One size is included in this pattern i.e. "one size fits most". Finished measurements are 44 x 44". The design is meant to be oversized but this will obviously depend on the size of the wearer! My model is a US Size 6 (Australian 10).

All my patterns are written in American crochet terminology and in English.

Materials List
Size 6 mm (US J) and 5.5 mm (US I) crochet hook
Any worsted (US = Medium, UK = Aran, AUS = 10ply) weight yarn - approximately 1650 yards (1510 m)
Dress maker’s pins or safety pins
Wool Needle & Scissors

Samples were made using Lion Brand Heartland yarn in shades “Grand Canyon” for the body and “Katmai” for the collar (four balls of each shade).
