1950s dress with lace collar
This is such a classic 50s dress with its fit and flare silhouette and sweet lace collar.
I believe this dress may have been handmade and I think it is likely for someone on the shorter side.
The waistline was shorter than my mannequin so the fit wasn't ideal.
The dress features half length sleeves, a white lace collar, fitted bust and empire waistline that flows into a large skirt. Not a full circle.
The fabric has some weight to it. Not as heavy as a faille. Seems to be a really good quality.
Dress is unlined.
It has a side metal zipper.

Bust: Difficult to measure as the bust is pleated. Laying flat its for 40" but to fill the bust i recommend 43"-44"
Waist: 30"
Shoulder to Waist: 14"
Length: 40.5" - 41"

Good vintage condition.
The main issue with the dress is that the lace is missing one 'rosette'. (pictured)
It would be easy to trim to collar all the way around to have a smaller and even collar. I left it to the next person to decide if they wish to do this.
You could also easily remove the collar as its hand stitched to the dress.
There is also some damage to the back of the left sleeve. (pictured)
Slight wear at the seams near the V at the base of the neckline. Probably the neckline was closed more and has been opened.
There is a small bend just under the bust line.
Slight wear at one gusset under the left arm.
