Title Artwork: "Red Chairs on Greenwich Village"
How I look for plots for my paintings.
The artist's choice to include a newspaper as a focal point adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. Newspapers, often serving as chroniclers of society, become symbolic windows into the stories, headlines, and happenings that shape the village and the city at large.
The figures in the painting are rendered with a palpable sense of movement and purpose. Each character represents a thread in the intricate tapestry of Greenwich's diverse community. From the bohemian artist to the contemplative reader, the canvas captures the essence of coexistence and shared experiences.
The print of the original artwork extends an invitation for viewers to step into the rhythmic pulse of Greenwich Village. The artist's interpretation, while rooted in realism, also leaves room for imagination and interpretation. It's a celebration of the human spirit, the collective heartbeat of a neighborhood that has inspired generations.
My painting on Newspaper, using mainly palette brush and paints.
Paints give this work a special lightness and airiness. I like paint with paints using the ala prima technique, using the effects of splatter, transparency and color saturation.
