Nutcracker Quilt Block FPP Pattern: Christmas Patchwork, 2 sizes (PDF Pattern)

The Nutcracker quilt block is just perfect for adding to your Christmas themed patchwork and quilting projects.

This PDF pattern for the Nutcracker includes full sized templates for creating this happy fellow in two different block sizes: 6″ and 10″.

The eyes and nose can be added with small buttons or with appliqué circles (templates and layout guide included). The mouth and eyebrows are added with a backstitch.

The PATTERN PIECES feature:

:: Digitally drawn pattern pieces
:: 1/4″ seam allowances on all sections
:: Reversed so you create a block that looks exactly as the illustration (with the Nutcracker leaning to the left)
:: Coloured and labelled to make construction as easy as possible
:: Laid out to print on A4 or Letter paper. Two larger pieces for the 10" version will need to be joined together before starting to sew (guidance provided)

DIFFICULTY

This pattern features the same block in two different sizes. I would recommend for a beginner to start with the 10″ version of the block as the pieces are larger in size.

There are 5 places where it would be good if seams were matched HOWEVER…the (slightly tricky) seam where the moustache is joined will be hidden by a button or applique for the nose, so there is a little room for error!

This pattern assumes that you already know how to paper piece so there are no FPP technique tips included with the instructions.
