DESIGN NOTES:
Baby quilts are always popular!
There are so many adorable children’s prints around these days that I was inspired to design a baby quilt that would show off a large portion of that print yet still provide a bit of a sewing challenge.
This design alternates large strips of a cat print with pinwheels. Pinwheels require a certain amount of sewing accuracy.
When choosing fabric for this quilt, any type of print will work: animals, flowers, insects – whatever captures your imagination. For the pinwheel fabrics, you can use a variety from your stash as long as they are similar colors to provide consistency in the quilt. I’ve used two different light pink fabrics for my pinwheels.
Alternatively a bright feature fabric would work well with a variety of bright colors in the pinwheels. See picture 5 for my alternate colorway.
