Here is a modern and updated take on the classic black witch hat that is designed as an accessory to go with our Wicked Witch of the West costume from The Wizard of Oz or other Wicked or wicked witch costume.

This hat is highly stylized in a Victorian or romantic style... with beautiful lines which departs from the traditional witch hat. The Witch hat is also made of FABRIC --black satin and includes a lime green taffeta lining. This is the REAL deal or a real hat not like the paper or cardboard 'birthday hat' ones all over etsy. This witch hat was also scaled down or 'mini sized' to be 'perched' or poised oh so perfectly. This makes a nice hairpiece -- allowing more hair and face visibility. It’s also got a smaller brim size than the normal witch hat with a contrasting elegant yet spooky spire or TALL/ elongated cap and point.

The coup de gras is a back veil over a yard long comprised of a spray of black sparkle tulle and black organza mini ‘scarves’. The organza veils are carefully sewn with narrow hems creating wonderful corkscrew and spiral effects that provide lift and light through the veil. The veils can be worn loose to fall around the face.. or can be tied back to the back of the hat(with a ¼” black ribbon attached to the rear brim) to fall backward and trail behind just like the Wicked Witch of the West’s hat does in the film.

Finally, the base of the hat is decorated with ‘ozian’ green ribbon and finished off with an ‘Oz” decoration piece at the front of the hat and embellished with green and black feathers. The letter O is dusted with emerald green glass glitter to mimic the look and feel of the Emerald City, and the black Z is embellished with a yellow-green or witch-green gems.

EMBELLISHMENT NOTES:

Green hat will come with OZ decoration unless otherwise requested
Purple Hat will come with purple feather decoration (no Oz embellishment)
Black hat will come with black feather decoration (no Oz embellishment)


Fastening:

This witch hat is worn like a fascinator or head piece and includes snap comb clips 4 mini ribbon loops underneath to attach to the hair. This is the default method of fastening for this hat. This method allows you to place it EXACTLY where you want on the head—low down near the eye, high up and back .. off to the left or right based on your hairstyle.

This hat is just a stunner and really will absolutely make your Wicked Witch of the West, Oz the Great & Powerful, Bad Witch or other Oz costume complete.
