An absolutely phenomenal striped skirt from the late 1940s or early 50s. Made from a brilliant, gorgeous rainbow textile with bold half inch wide stripes, the colors are utterly lush. Blush pink, deep burgundy, bright blue, melon orange, true red, plum sharkskin, yellow, fuchsia-red, brown and green/rust sharkskin. I don't know if this is expertly homemade or part of a custom made set - it is expertly executed. Stripes are used vertically in the pleated center front, then horizontally at the side of the front, curving off to a mitered pattern match at the center back. It's truly masterful. The skirt has a wide, reinforced waistband, and closes up the center back with a metal zipper and hooks at the waist. A fantastic, rare piece that you can treasure, mix and match for decades to come.
