*Disclaimer* Olivewood is one of the safest options for wood plugs, however while extremely low, there are still risks of allergic reactions. No wood is free from risk of allergic reactions, while some are more prone to cause a reaction than others. Most people can wear most woods without issue.

This wood is sourced directly from Bethlehem cut by local artisans. Due to being a natural material all plugs will look different. It is common for the center of a log to crack during the drying process. The larger cracks I fill with a glue to prevent them from cracking farther. I take extra care care to keep cracks in the center of the plug and out of the wearable area.

Due to the nature of wood no two plugs will be entirely identical although I do my best to get the best possible matches. The pair you receive will vary slightly from any of the plugs pictured.

Plugs are measured to 12.5mm - 13.5mm total width and flares are measured to 1.3mm to 1.8mm in size. If you would like them thinner or thicker please leave a note at checkout.

Due to being handmade measurements can vary +/- .5mm Please message me if you need precise measurements. But I do my best to take the extra time to ensure consistency on all of my plugs.

This dramatic and beautiful wood is milled from pruning’s of trees that no longer produce fruit. The wood comes from the Galilee region of Israel or Holy Land. Olivewood trees live and produce fruit for hundreds of years. Each piece has a unique figure and history. The older the tree is the broader and more gnarled the trunk appears. Its root system is so robust that it can regenerate the tree even if the aboveground structure is destroyed. This very hard and close grained wood is yellow or light greenish-brown and is often finely veined with a darker tint.

After the plugs are shaped to size and the wearable area is sanded smooth i sand the faces of the plugs on my belt sander through various grits, and finishing with skin safe oils and waxes for a durable finish.

Plugs are made to have a matte finish for a more natural appearance. Not made to be glossy/shiny.

As with all wood plugs the wood will darken over time, as the wax finish wears off, the wood will absorb the oils you use on your ear lobes. You can reapply a wax to them if you wish, i would recommend carnauba wax as it is hard and durable as well as vegan friendly.

All wood plugs are finished with a vegan friendly blend of Organic Jojoba Oil and Carnauba wax. The finish is made in-house in small batches and is available for purchase to refinish your jewelry over time
