These little creatures are sometimes seen as a nuisance in the garden. I however find them peaceful, resilient and calming. I even try to keep them out of predators view when I see them out and about. I just place them under cover of nearby vegetation and wish them luck on their journey.

In history they are known as symbols of transformation. Also seen as creatures of wisdom, patience, determination and endurance.

Many of us are naturally or intrinsically attracted to their spiral shell. We seem to subconsciously recognize its symbol of cyclical life.

The process......


I begin by harvesting and foraging naturals from my garden or walkabouts. I encapsulate each copper item in my studio using a multi step electroplating process. This involves drying, sealing 2-3 times and coating with 2-3 coats of conductive paint. The item is then placed in an electrically charged copper bath for up to 24 hours. Each item is then hand polished and assembled. On completion, each jewelry piece is double coated in an enviro-friendly jewelry rated sealer. The result is magical and sometimes unpredictable. The perfect marriage between nature and science.
