Where to start? This absolutely singular dress appears to have been handmade, I'm guessing in the early 1970s. It is made like a crazy quilt, with varying sizes and shapes of cotton velvet in dark blue, burgundy, orange and green. Very interesting is how the patches go from smaller at the top to larger and more vertical in the skirt. There are strips of red-orange silk shantung and linen between the patches, and all the seams are highlighted with feather stitch embroidery. The patchwork is lined with red-orange poly cotton voile.

There are no shoulder seams, the patchwork covers any seaming. the dress is flaring and probably will reach midi- to ankle-length on most people (the model is 5'10"). There is a long back invisible zipper.

The dress is about 4.2 pounds with a box for shipping.

CONDITION: Just dry cleaned by my eco-friendly (non-perc) dry cleaner, the dress is in at least good condition. I show the remaining spots in the final photos. If you look at the photo of the interior of the dress, you can see just how handmade looking the dress is, but I wouldn't consider that a flaw.

SIZE: Small by my thinking, about a US size 4 to possibly 6.
