Instead of being thrown in the landfill, these non-functioning resistors have been upcycled into lightweight earrings for the science and techie geek. I have created several designs. Please note that price varies with style.

Large Gray resistors - The gray resistors are 14 mm long with light gold, orange, red and blue stripes. I have paired them with 4 mm synthetic, navy and copper colored goldstone spheres, one placed on top of each resistor with the other hanging from the bottom of the resistors. These earrings dangle about 1 1/4 inches from the bottom loop of the silver tone ear wires to the bottom of the dangling goldstone bead.

Medium Gray resistors - The gray resistors are 10 mm long. I have paired them with seed beads or gemstones that complement the color stripes on the resistors and created a spiral at the bottom from the resistor wire. One set includes one reddish orange seed bead on top of the resistor and two below. These earrings dangle about 15/16 inches from the bottom loop of the gray niobium ear wires to the bottom of the spiral. Another set includes one light bluish silver seed bead on top of the resistor and two below that bracket a dark blue seed bead. These earrings dangle about 1 inch from the bottom loop of the gray niobium ear wires to the bottom of the spiral. An additional set includes a dark red garnet bead at the bottom of the resistor. These earrings dangle 7/8 of an inch below the bottom loop of the gray niobium ear wires to the bottom of the spiral.

Large Tan resistors - These tan resistors are 14 mm long with yellow, orange, red and gold stripes. I have paired them with 4 mm picture jasper spheres, one placed on top of each resistor with the other hanging from the bottom of the resistors. These earrings dangle about 1 3/8 inches from the bottom loop of the antiqued brass tone lever backs to the bottom of the dangling picture jasper bead. The resistor wires are silver tone and the rest of the metal findings are antiqued brass tone.

Mismatched Tan resistors - I used four sizes of tan resistors to create the mismatched earring pair in the second listing photo. The resistors on one earring are about 3, 5 and 6 mm long with a 10 mm resistor on the single resistor earring. I paired the resistors with orange, yellow and purple seed beads and created spirals below each resistor. These earrings dangle 13/16 to 7/8 inches from the bottom loop of the silver tone ear wires to the bottom of the lowest spiral.

Turquoise resistors - The turquoise resistor earrings are made from 6 and 8 mm resistors and turquoise and white seed beads. These earrings will exhibit a lot of movement when you move due to the jointed dangling sections. I created a spiral below the bottom resistor. These earrings dangle 1 3/4 inches from the bottom loop of the silver tone ear wires to the bottom of the spiral.

Please note: These are my stock photos and minor differences may occur in the materials, most likely due to natural variations of the stones used in some of the earrings, or as a result of the handmade process.
