What kind of paint should I use to paint 3D models?

Acrylic paint works beautifully on 3D printed models. I personally use a combination of acrylic paint, spray paint, and UV nail polish (yes, you read that right) to get the best finish.

This is a digital STL file for a 1:12 scale miniature replica of a plastic storage bin. The lid fits snugly on the bin and the bins are stackable. This model was test printed using filament on the highest quality setting. We recommend 0.08mm layer lines, enabling thin wall detection, and having supports enabled for the best quality print. The lid and bin have low clearance to ensure a tight fit so a bit of sanding is recommended after printing.
