Vinkel | Angled Solid Wood Linear Pendant Light

Vinkel takes its name from the Swedish word for angle. Each solid hardwood body is shaped into a subtle 10° taper, creating a profile that changes as it is viewed from different points in the room. The light source is recessed approximately 1/2 in into the underside, leaving a slender hardwood rim around the illuminated opening. Concealed LEDs wash the recessed bottom surface with light, making the lower rim appear to glow and emphasizing Vinkel’s angular geometry.

HANDCRAFTED IN COLORADO SPRINGS

Every Vinkel pendant is made to order by our small team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We select and mill the hardwood, shape and refine the angular body, hand-finish the surface, assemble the lighting system, and test the completed fixture in our own workshop. Natural variations in grain and tone make each piece distinctly its own.

Our standard finish is a hand-applied natural beeswax finish that brings depth to the grain without disguising the character of the wood. An unfinished fixture is available by request, and we welcome inquiries about custom finishes for a particular interior.

Body profile: approximately 1.57 in wide × 2.56 in high (40 × 65 mm), shaped with a subtle 10° taper and an approximately 1/2 in recessed illuminated opening.

MOUNTING STYLE

• Mounting Cups — a minimal two-point ceiling installation. This option requires the driver to be installed remotely in an accessible location.
• Wood Ceiling Canopy — a matching hardwood ceiling plate that mounts to a centered standard junction box and conceals the LED driver for a clean, integrated installation.

Standard suspension length is 71 in (180 cm), suitable for most ceilings. Standard wire spacing is 22.0 in (56 cm) for fixtures up to 59.1 in (150 cm), and 37.8 in (96 cm) for fixtures 70.9 in (180 cm) and longer. For extra-tall, vaulted, or cathedral ceilings requiring more suspension, purchase additional wire through our Extra Wire Length listing. If the junction box is off center or the standard suspension points do not suit your layout, purchase custom wire spacing separately.

LIGHT

120–240V. LED wattage varies with fixture length. Standard LEDs produce approximately 518 lumens per foot (1700 lumens per meter).

Standard fixtures include a non-dimmable driver. For dimming, purchase our TRIAC Dimmable Driver Upgrade separately with the fixture. We integrate and test the upgraded driver during fabrication. With Mounting Cups, the driver—standard or dimmable—must be installed remotely in an accessible location. Please confirm a suitable driver location with your electrician before ordering.

For spaces that need more illumination, purchase our Upgraded High Output LEDs separately with the fixture. We integrate and test the upgraded LEDs during fabrication. High-output LEDs produce approximately 701 lumens per foot (2300 lumens per meter). INSTALLATION + CRAFT

Designed for indoor, hardwired installation by a qualified electrician. We build with UL/ETL-certified electrical components and include the hardware required for your selected mounting style. Every fixture includes a one-year warranty on lighting components.

Vinkel’s tapered geometry works comfortably above kitchen islands, dining tables, conference tables, pool tables, and other interiors where a distinctive wood form should feel refined rather than ornamental.
