M&S Schmalberg is America's last fabric flower factory — handcrafting flowers in New York City's Garment District since 1916. Founded by brothers Morris and Sam Schmalberg, we are now in our fourth generation, still working from the same NYC studio, keeping alive a craft that exists almost nowhere else in the world.

Every flower starts as a flat piece of fabric — silk, velvet, satin, organza, leather, cotton, linen, felt, denim, or virtually any material a customer brings us. We cut each petal by hand using century-old metal dies — the same ones used since our earliest days — then shape and curl each petal using heated tools, and finally assemble the whole flower entirely by hand. No machines finish these. No overseas factories. Just skilled hands in Midtown Manhattan, the same way it has always been done.

Our flowers have graced the runways and ateliers of Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and Hermes, among others. At the 2023 Met Gala alone, we created flowers for 17 celebrities — including Paris Hilton, Tory Burch, Jenna Ortega and Olivia Rodrigo. You may also recognize our work from Bridgerton, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Gilded Age, Sex and the City, the NYC Ballet, and the Radio City Rockettes.

We have been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CBS News, Business Insider, PBS, CNN, ABC News, Women's Wear Daily, and Crain's New York. We are proud recipients of the Martha Stewart American Made Award (2016).

Each piece in our Etsy shop is brand new and Made in USA.
