Linen Cushion Cover with sashiko stitching, Boro Japanese style patchwork pillow slip, repurposing offcuts and remnants of natural fibre textiles which have been screen printed by Australian Designers. East meets West in Wabi Sabi style.

Perfect for adding a touch of colour to a room. Display these cushions on their own, in groups * or add another plain matching colour cushion to show off their colours.

Process:
I carefully choose fabric patches from my well curated collection of Linen, Cotton and Silks, to create a pleasing layout. I then hand-embroider them unto the base cloth with matching and/or contrasting threads, using a straight Sashiko* stitch. This process takes many hours!! This cloth then gets sewn into zippered cushion cover 😌

* Sashiko is a striking hand-sewing technique that originated in ancient Japan. In Japanese, its name means “little stabs”—a reference to the plain running stitch.

* Boro refers to the practice of reworking and repairing textiles through piecing, patching and stitching, in order to extend their use.
