Fused glass handkerchief candle vase / draped textural candle holder. Elegant fused glass handkerchief candle holder in warm yellow, festive red, turquoise, and fern green. At the top, it measures about 5" x 5" and is 5 1/2" tall. The base is 2 1/2" in diameter, and is perfect for holding a votive or pillar candle up to 2" diameter. I used transparent glass to transmit a lovely candlelit glow. The photos cannot do the color combination of these glasses justice. Each of the four candle vases have a different colored base, which you may choose at checkout:

i created this piece using draping method to create a "handkerchief" effect. First, I cut the glass pieces by hand in the shape of a square, using a combination of clear and transparent glass for the base. Then I cut strips of glass in the coordinating colors around the outside half. Then the piece goes into the kiln and is contour fused...that is to say, a temperature that is high enough to fuse everything together but low enough to keep the piece textural. After this firing, the square piece is then draped on a stainless steel form, and the heat of the kiln allows it to drape over the form so that the hot glass folds into this lovely handkerchief shape.
