French Antique 100% pure nubby hemp linen torchons, authentic kitchen towels 1900s. Those towels present a very heavy weave with lots of raw fibers. Very interesting texture in these towels that present some bits and pieces of the hemp straw (light golden and satiny). Homespun, there are no initials on these.

Early-machine hemmed with flax thread and getting more difficult to find. The brown greyish color is the hemp fiber, natural and unbleached. This is what makes this fiber so beautiful; its natural whole and rustic, nubby state.
It feels heavy to the touch and it brings us back to the late 1800s beginning 1900s period, when linens were made as rustic and strong as the people who created them.
Very raw and rustic feel and look for this homespun linen.

A great gift for your shabby chic home or kitchen and for lovers of rustic french home Gustavian style. A nice touch to your well-being spa. Pure country weave linen in excellent condition. Can be used for your kitchen as tea towels, hand towels, table runners or any crafty creations.

Light storage marks for these pieces as they were stored many years in rustic armoires. They are new and have never been used. They have not been washed. These are sold as is, in their beautiful original state, undamaged.
