Bright, Unique Quilt, 84” x 66”
This eccentric and somewhat unconventional quilt is made from six yards of coordinating fabric of irregular dye patterns (top only) - quality cotton quilting fabrics only. With the irregular patterns, it was interesting to see how each block, line, and row showcased the fabric artist’s design. Batting is 100% cotton (light weight) and backing is black cuddle/minky, short nap. Even though the batting is lightweight, when added to the warm backing, this quilt is deliciously warm. Long-arm machine quilted with black thread - see design in photos. Binding is Kona black, handmade and hand-hemmed for a solid finish. The dimensions, 84” x 66”, make this large enough to be a spread for a single bed (surface size 74” x 36”) with ample drop on both sides, or for a double bed (surface size 74” x 54”) with drop on sides. This quilt can be used as a coverlet on any bed to be pulled up for an extra layer on a cold night. It is quality-made with attention to detail, and was made in a pet-free, smoke-free home. It can be washed/cold water and dried - although I highly recommend hanging to dry (or perhaps dry clean) to better maintain the integrity and life of the quilt for years to come.
