ORDERING
Customers should thoroughly inspect the item pictures and description before buying. For any concerns regarding any object or an existing Etsy order, please send us a message through Etsy contact seller message function in our Etsy Shop 'NordicNouveau’.
When ordering an item, remember that all products are old and have been used. We can not take any responsibility for customer using any object, electrical device or lighting purchased on our web store. We can not guarantee that they are safe to use (eg. bad connections or fire hazard). All responsibility is with the customer. You can read more about this under the ‘Vintage Disclaimer’ section further down this page.
• Shipping options and tracking
We take great care in packing your items to ensure they arrive safely, with tracking always provided.
We usually ship with UPS Standard and you pick up the package at a convenient UPS Access Point near your home. UPS Access Points offer a broad range of locations. You will receive an email notification when your parcel arrives and is ready to collect. If there is no UPS Access Point near your home, we will choose another shipping company or contact you for Home Delivery arrangement. For certain orders and those outside the EU, we may opt to use PostNord (Swedish Post) as our shipping provider. If you by some reason need Home Delivery, the shipping becomes more expensive and then you have to contact us before buying so that we can change the fee in the listing.
• Our responsibility
Nordic Nouveau assume full responsibility that the object is in the described condition when it reach you. This responsibility holds until the object is either collected by the buyer or delivered by the shipping company. If the object have been damaged during transport, the customer should point this out directly to the shipping firm and also notify us immediately.
• Unclaimed Packages: Customer Non-Pickup
It's crucial to promptly collect your package upon delivery. Failure to do so within the specified timeframe may impact your ability to return the item and receive a refund in accordance with consumer protection regulations. We care about your satisfaction and want to make sure you enjoy hassle-free shopping with us. Remember, your timely action ensures you maintain your consumer rights.
• Customs fees
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply i.e. all fees associated with customs clearance in their country of destination, including taxes, duty, customs charges etc as well as any wait caused by a delay in customs processing. This applies for all orders outside of Sweden. Since Sweden is a member of the European Union (EU), no customs fee is charged when sending goods between countries within the EU.
• Packaging material
To save on the earth’s resources, we try to reuse as much packaging and wrapping material as possible.

NordicNouveau is registered in the LUCID Packaging Register and has a system participation agreement with RECLAY.
REFUND POLICY
According to the EU consumer rights directive ”the Act on Distance Contracts and Off-Premises Contracts” all items are sold with a two-week ‘cooling off’ period. You may indicate you wish to return an item within 14 days from collecting or receiving it and we will accept it back – no questions asked. However you are in charge for all costs involving the return shipment including insurance and a safe packing. The package needs to be trackable.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be returned in the exact same condition it was received in. You also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. All refunds will be made after we have received the item and inspected it. To start a return, contact us ('Patrik') directly through Etsy contact seller message function in our Etsy Shop 'NordicNouveau'. If your return is accepted we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package.
• Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. If an object is defective or if we have delivered the wrong object, you have the right to return the object to us. We will compensate you for your expenses for returning the product. We will replace the object and if the object is out of stock we will repay you the amount. We strive to source objects in as good original condition as possible, however, since they have been preowned signs of use are to be expected. Take care to look close at the images before completing your purchase and contact us through Etsy contact seller message function in our Etsy Shop 'NordicNouveau' for more pictures or questions regarding condition or other uncertainties.
• Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you will be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund. Please note that your expenses for returning the item to us will not be refunded.

• Force majeure
Nordic Nouveau will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of our obligations if it is due to an event beyond our reasonable control, including, without limitation, war, industrial dispute, fire, flood or national emergencies. If so delayed we will be entitled to a reasonable extension of time for performing our obligations. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are only approximate and we shall not be liable for any losses, damages, charges, costs or expenses caused by any delay in delivery of the goods. We will however try and aid you to the best of our ability in this unlikely event.
VINTAGE DISCLAIMER
Please keep in mind that when buying vintage objects you are purchasing something that is pre-loved. We strive to source objects in as good original condition as possible, however, since they have been preowned most vintage objects show signs of wear, but that is also what makes them to be unique, exciting and sustainable interior. We aim to ensure that the condition of any object is as reasonable as possible given its age and nature, and would not offer for sale any item that is not substantially complete or in a minimum acceptable condition for display or use. Substantial damage or extensive restoration or changes or losses to the item beyond this will be stated in our item descriptions.
We do our best to describe and document the condition of the object as best we can. Take care to look close at the images before completing your purchase. By placing an order, you are deemed to acknowledge the vintage nature of the goods we are selling. If you have any questions about a particular object please contact us for more pictures regarding condition or other uncertainties.
• Health and Safety / Electrical goods
The goods we sell are authentic, original objects which were manufactured before today’s stringent health and safety standards. When ordering an item, remember that all listed objects are old and have been used. We can not take any responsibility for any electrical faults or accidents due to use of purchased antique/vintage objects. All use of purchased vintage objects, both electric and non-electric, is at your own risk. We recommends all electrical vintage lighting to be checked by an licensed electrician to ensure wiring is safe (more information about vintage lighting can be found below). We also recommend that vintage electrical goods are protected by a “RCD” (an RCD is a sensitive safety device that switches off electricity automatically if there is a fault).
• Vintage lighting
Many people want vintage items left in original state, including old wiring and plugs. Our light fixtures are sold with original wiring in most cases. Please, note that the original wiring might need to be changed to fit your country’s as well as today’s safety requirements. We take no responsibility for the wiring and we strongly recommends all purchased electrical vintage lighting to be checked by an electrician to ensure wiring is safe. Installation is different from country to country and possible enhancement is the buyer’s responsibility. If rewiring of a lamp is necessary we recommend to have the lamps rewired in the country where they are to be in use. Light fixtures should always be installed by a licensed electrician.
