Story behind Sugar Town from Included Paperwork:

"We welcome you to Sugar Town!
This exceptionally charming PRECIOUS
MOMENTS village created by artist Sam Butcher,
was inspired by a wonderful story his Mother
shared with him from early childhood.

Through his creative artistry, Sam has brought this heart-
warming story-the story of his birth, family and
friends--to life with this quaint collectible,
porcelain bisque village.

On January 1, 1939, there was an unexpected
surprise! At his parent's New Year's Eve celebration,
an impatient Sam Butcher was about to
become the first hometown arrival of the New Year!
Since there was not enough time to deliver at the
hospital, family doctor, Dr. Sam Sugar quickly paid
the Butchers a house visit…and brought
baby Sam into the world at 12:15 a.m.!

A little more than five decades later, Sam has lovingly
transformed this memorable event into
Sugar Town. His vision of "the Sweetest Place
on Earth" has been dedicated to all the special
friends and family members that have been such
an important part of Sam's life. Now you too, have
the unique opportunity to acquaint yourself with
some of these unforgettable people and places
from Sam Butcher's past and present!
The Chapel is appropriately the first Sugar
Town introduction piece since it represents Sam's
strong commitment to the Lord and his abiding faith.

Representing the Preacher is Sam's Grandfather,
