1/8 BBB Baltic Birch, can and WILL have varying degrees of being warped, this is a very common characteristic of any 1/8 plywood material. I do my best to send out fairly flat sheets, but with so many variables during shipping, I can not control how warped the material is when it arrives.

B/BB 3mm 1/8" Baltic Birch

For use on a GlowForge or similar laser cutter.

This is meant to be a rough product not a finished product. There may be markings on the edge from the lumber yard. Since it is cut by hand some boards may not be 100% square and may have uneven saw marks on the edges. Our goal though is to provide the absolute best quality to our customers.

WARPED SHEETS: How many makers deal with this is always to store flat with either weights or heavy books on top, AND use hold down pins when cutting. I also suggest placing a 3/4' sheet on plywood on top to ensure that the weight is evenly distributed. Warped material is not something that warrants a refund, and I will not refund material that is slightly warped (as it is to be expected).

FREE TEST CUT SHEET:
First time orders receive a small test cut sheet in addition to their order (approximately 4"X6") to adjust settings to their machine.

SANDED VS. “NOT” SANDED:
Baltic Birch is smooth, but natural does have a "fuzzy" feeling to it. Buying “Not Sanded” is still a very smooth finish, as pictured in the photos. Sanded is offered as an option for those that like to sand their Baltic Birch with a 220 grit sand paper, to not have to deal with the "fuzzy" aspect OR just don’t have access to an orbital sander. Sanded Baltic Birch sheets are sanded lightly with an orbital sander using 220 grit sand paper on two sides.

These settings were tested with CLEAN OPTICS and FANS with no masking on a Glowforge Basic.

For Pro or 45W Plus, full power is hotter than for the Basic or 40W Plus, so for cuts on those machines you may need to increase the speed or decrease the power.

For cutting / scoring with masking, power will need to be increased slightly.

Engraving with masking is not recommended due to the sticky mess it can create and the loss of fine details in your artwork.
