Miniature Copper Garden Swing Wire Sculpture

Useful Desk Art. When you experience mental chaos due to information overload, take a mini break with this mesmerizing kinetic sculpture. It may calm your brain, allow profound thoughts to surface, put a smile on your face, or (careful!) make you verrrry sleeepy...

This intricate one of a kind little swing and stand were handmade by me from recycled copper wire of several gauges. I used a single length of wire for the stand, two pieces for the bench back and seat, and yards of wrapping wire; I used no solder. The wrapping wire will stay bright (it has a factory coating), but the frame wires may gradually develop a dark patina.

The sculpture is 3.125" wide x 3" tall x 2.625" deep. The bench seat is 2" wide x 1" tall x 1" deep; the swing is not removable from the stand. It is signed in wire "rj13," for ruth jensen and the year (photos were pre-signature.) You can see a 7-second video of it in action at
