Geometric shape memory game

This set contains 16 wooden pieces with geometric shapes – a circle, oval, rectangle, square, rhombus, triangle, and pentagon.

From the beginning place all wooden rectangles on the table so that all geometric shapes are hidden. First player takes two pieces, and if they are the same, he keeps them. If the shapes are not the same, he turns them over, so that nobody can see which of the geometric shapes are on the pieces. Next player takes again two pieces, and if there are similar shapes, he keeps them. If not, he puts them back. The winner is the player who’s got the most wooden pieces.

When you play this game together with your child, he achieves both skills – he trains his memory, and he learns to recognise geometric shapes. It is easy to for child to mistake one thing for another, for example pentagon with rhombus, or a circle is similar like oval, rhombus like square, still they are different shapes.
