Can I sew these patterns on a machine?

Most of the times, I don’t think so. For some patterns this is, probably, doable, if you have a cobbler.

Can I sell the items I make with your patterns?

Sure you can sell your creations. You can't resell the patterns :)

Are the holes marked on the patterns?

Yes they are, for 5mm stitching irons. Micro Satchel pattern is the only one that does not have holes, just stitching lines. Unlike most other patters from other designers, I make hole marks in the shape of dots, not circles. For me this makes it easier to gain more precision when punching them. However they can be a bit hard to see through the tape. I use transparent scotch tape or just cut the paper pattern outside of the contour and tape the margins.

I can't print the test page correctly, it comes out trimmed 😭

Check your printer settings. If it is in Portrait mode, change to Auto, it should solve the problem. If it doesn't work or you don't see this setting, download free Acrobat Reader and print from there with the Auto orientation setting. https://get.adobe.com/reader/

I found a bug in a pattern, something seems off / wrong / weird!

Send me a message. Sometimes (cause we are all human beings and I am too) mistakes do happen, although I try my best to double check everything and keep the patterns bug free. If you find a real bug in a pattern and report it to me, you get a free pattern of your choice from my store.

I create original PDF patterns for hand-stitched leather bags, backpacks, accessories, home decor, corsets, hats, and other leather projects. I have been doing leatherwork since 2016 after working as a graphic designer since 1998.

ABOUT THE PATTERN:

This sling represents a Giant Deep Sea Isopod, and it's absolutely not an insect, beetle, cockroach or anything else, it's a beautiful marine crustacean. Some may refer to it as a pill bug or roly poly which are its terrestrial relatives.

This project is for more experienced leather crafters as it may be somewhat scary for a beginner. The pattern consists of 86 pieces and would take about 3-5 days to assemble, depending on how fast you work.

The pattern has stitching holes marked for 5mm stitching irons, but on some pieces the stitch length may vary slightly to fit in confined spaces, obtain the correct shape and avoid unnecessary tension.

What you are gonna need:

Tools:

Knife or scissors, stitching irons, maul or mallet, hole punch, pair of harness needles, waxed thread. In case of using rivets, rivet setter.

Materials:

Everything except the parts listed below: 4-5 oz medium to medium-firm temper (not anything as stiff as cardboard because the head is stitched in a turned manner and you may get stuck there).
Eyes (the base): 4-5 oz veg tan
Eyes (the “pupils”): thin dark leather, glossy or with “metallic” effect, or at least anything dark.
Belly, outer part: 1-2 oz lambskin, sheep skin, or goat skin.
Belly “sixpack” filling: padding polyester or foam or cotton, whatever you have on hand.
Legs: 3-3.5 oz soft to medium leather

Hardware:

2 x 1” D-rings
1 x 9” zipper
6 x rivets or Chicago screws
