~Description~
Bound in a single thick piece of vegetable tanned leather this journal has one of our hand tooled designs on the cover. The antiqued brown finish is hand applied to pick out the natural markings in the full grain leather. The covers are held closed by two cords finished with leather beads.
It's ideal for use as a personal diary or a travel journal and its versatile size means it is easy to carry in your rucksack or tuck away on your bookshelf. With it's nautical design it would be perfect as a ship's log.

~Design~
We love old maps here at Earthworks and we know that many of our customers like to travel, so we thought a Compass Rose design would be perfect. The Compass Rose, also known as the Windrose, is the design traditionally found at the centre of a compass to mark the four cardinal points.

~Size & Binding~
23cm x 15.5cm x 3.5cm (9 x 6 x 1.5 inches)
Approximately 250 pages (500 sides) of A5 sized, unlined, recycled, paper.
The pages in this book are hand bound using a strong waxed cord. No glue is used, so the spine of the book cannot be broken, our binding is strong and permanent.

~Paper~
Our paper is 100% recycled and is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour. This 80 gsm weight paper has a matt appearance, is slightly textured and it takes most fountain pens without 'bleeding'.
It's of archival quality which is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations!

~Personalisation~
We can add up to five letters (name or initials) to the back cover at no additional cost. Just send us a message with your order to let us know what you would like.
