"A Gentle Sweep" | Here isa rolling and soft slice of the countryside, populated with small trees and shrubberies. The gentlest rain has begun to fall across this soft land. Are those fireflies I see? Or maybe the fickle lights of faerie winking out from the understory— they'll be hidden soon either way, as the rain brings a sodden while to the afternoon.

This is an original ink painting done on watercolor paper, then mounted with archival adhesive onto a 3/4" cradled wood panel. I love painting on paper— It allows me to do things with ink and washes that just don't work on canvas or boards. This is part of a new line of my paintings mounted to cradled panels, thereby negating the requirement of a frame.

The board is 10"x 8" and the cradle depth is .75"
The edges of the panel are painted white, so it can be displayed without framing. The painting is signed and dated on the reverse, and been sealed with a low-gloss acrylic medium, and finally a thin layer of cold wax is applied to reduce the sheen further. The photos shown were taken prior to finishing to eliminate glare in the camera; photos of he sealed painting can be provided as well.
