It is recommended that you spot clean the patches, but if absolutely necessary handwashing or delicate washing along with air drying is recommended. Machine drying the patches may damage or loosen/remove the patch from the garment.

PROCESS

This patch is made with an antique Singer chainstitch machine that was manufactured between 1911-1940. These machines were originally used in western wear and the resulting embroidery has a unique texture to it. Unlike computerized embroidery, the machine is controlled all by hand using a hand crank to steer where the stitches are made.

PATCH CARE

The wool felt I use is sturdy and high quality. However, due to the nature of wool felt, it's best to apply these patches on garments that aren't washed too frequently. To clean, wash with cool or lukewarm water by hand or on the delicate setting on your washer. It's preferable to air dry/avoid using the dryer which can cause the patch to shrink and become fuzzy.
