As you may have already sniffed out, a dinker is someone who dinks. While it may sound like an insult, a dinker is one of the most respected and feared players in the game. Dinking is a crucial skill that involves tapping the ball lightly over the net and placing it in an area (the kitchen) where your opponent won't be able to return it easily. It's like a delicate dance, where the goal is to outwit your opponent with finesse, not brute force.

What's a banger in Pickleball?

If you're following the bread crumbs, you likely figured that if dinkers dink, then bangers must bang. And, you'd be correct. But what's banging you may ask? Well, banging is when a player hits the ball super hard and fast, with the hope of making it nearly impossible for their opponent to return. It's a big ole' power move but with a paddle instead of a karate chop. While it may sound easy ... don't be fooled, hitting a whiffle ball at max velocity takes some serious practice and skill to pull off.
