This antique Valentine folds out to form a dimensional arbor around a campfire. The fire pops up, and the heart, which says "To My Love" is suspended by red ribbon. The top of the arbor is a tissue honeycomb that has a metal clasp to grip the other side and keep it open - it has separated at one section but could be glued together carefully. The two sections of shrubbery at either side of the arbor columns (the right side is missing a very small piece at the end, and one of the flowers is gone from the backing) are made to be folded back to keep the Valentine standing when open - I did not want to put any extra strain on the card so decided not to do this when taking pictures. I did the best I could while holding it to show the dimensionality. Please zoom in on all photos to examine the item closely and contact me with any questions before purchasing. Absolutely no returns for any reason. All flower edges appear unchipped. The green vertical strip between the fire and the left side column bends when the card is opened, to help move things into place - the lower half of it is shinier than the rest of the cardstock, perhaps something was glued there originally. It is not very noticeable when the valentine is open. When flat, 8" tall and 8-1/4" wide. From the 1920s. A lovely addition to your collection. Check out my shop's Holiday category for other fabulous antique Valentines. NOTE: I am a responsible shipper with years of experience. This item will be sent in a thin but hard box inside a custom bubble mailer. Or, if you purchase multiple valentines, they will be sent in a regular box between layers of cardboard, and parchment items (which are not flat) will be bubble wrapped.
