The Tea Diary is an intimate expression that combines tea illustrations with tea-related knowledge. This design was inspired by my mother, who during my childhood in Taiwan, had fond recollections of being awoken by the sweet fragrance of tea on Saturday mornings. My mother’s peaceful expressions and graceful movements when making the tea left a deep impression on me. After settling down in New York City, whenever I became homesick, I would actively seek out this nostalgically familiar scent.
After learning Cha Dao, also known as “The Way of Tea”, I discovered that in addition to the beauty of the tea ceremony form. The history and culture of Cha Dao are more about exploring the relationship between oneself and the outside world through practice.
