Hot Love - Rare 1960’s Alice Pollock for Quorum Suit
This piece is one of my best finds and finest offerings yet, a very rare and early piece by Quorum, designed by Alice Pollock!
Pollock formed Quorum alongside fabric designer Celia Birtwell in 1964, with Ossie Clark joining the duo shortly after in 1965.
Quorum were famous for their large production fashion shows which were attended by The Beatles and their clothes were sensual and bohemian.
Quorum eventually sold to Radley in 1969 due to debts but Pollock, Birtwell and Clark remained designing through the 1970’s.
Over the years the Quorum pieces have become extremely sought after and pieces are rarer to come by these days, after researching I’ve found that this suit dates between 1964-66 and is one of the very earlier pieces by Alice Pollock.
The suit features an Aubergine purple velvet blazer and matching trousers. The blazer, which is fully lined and features three mother of pearl buttons, with the original Alice Pollock for Quorum tag attached.
The trousers are a cigarette cut and feature a zip front, these are unlined and without the Pollock / Quorum label but feature a paper label “Morrish & Co London” who I’m assuming were the factory used for making.
Labelled size 12, approx modern day 8-10

Notes:
• Some faint stains, mostly on the trousers but due to the lustre of the velvet these aren’t noticable unless inspecting closely.
• Freshly gently dry cleaned - would not advise cleaning further unless spot cleaning.
• Buttons look to have been secured with black thread instead of purple at some point (not noticeable)
• One of the hems on one trouser leg has started to come undone but very slight and an easy fix.
