Are you wanting to try burning a design on a hat but you are not confident of your drawing ability? Our hat burning designs are a great solution.

You can print the design and use carbon paper to trace the design onto your hat. Many of our customers cut the designs apart to create totally unique hat designs. The design possibilities are virtually unlimited.

Because hats are not all the same size, we create our designs so you can use Canva or similar software to adjust the design size to fit your hat. We have a tutorial that explains the process. 1. You may use our designs for commercial and personal use. The license is restricted to small businesses only. If you are a medium to large business and want to use our designs on a larger scale, contact us.

2. Our commercial license does not allow you to claim as your own, sell, or redistribute the files. The designs are for your use only to create hats for your use or for selling hats to your customers. The license is not transferable.

3. You can not sell our designs as silkscreens, stencils, or any other method used to transfer our designs to a hat or other medium BY A THIRD PARTY. The designs are strictly for your use ONLY to create a final product (a hat for example). YOU CAN NOT REDISTRIBUTE OUR DESIGNS AS YOUR OWN. 1. We thoroughly check our designs for trademark infringement. Keep in mind that trademarks are fluid and may be added by any person or company at any time.

2. If you plan to sell hats with our designs, we strongly encourage you to check for trademarks. You can check for trademarks at tmsearch.uspto.gov (TESS) prior to making a purchase. This is the best way to insure you will not be violating any existing trademarks.

FAQ

ARE THE FILES READY TO USE? Yes, but hat sizes and design style varies. We create our designs so they can be sized up or down to get a perfect fit on your hat. The files are easy to adjust in any design software (we use Inkscape to design in, but the files can be used with Canva, Photoshop, or other software).

HOW DO YOU TRANSFER THE DESIGN TO THE HAT? Keep in mind that there are a variety of ways to transfer a design to a hat. In our tutorial we show you the way we do it.

WILL THE DESIGNS WORK ON ANY HAT? We create the designs for narrow or wide flat brim hats (Rancher hats, for example). Because of variations in hat sizes, our designs may need adjusting either making them larger or smaller for perfect results. I’M A BEGINNER, DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

1. Be sure you measure your hat. If our design says "Wide Brim" then it is for wide brim hats.
2. If you have never burned a hat before, start with a simple design then work up to the more complex designs.
3. YOU CAN BURN A HOLE IN YOUR HAT! If you have never burned a hat, practice on a piece of felt or on an old hat. Practice makes perfect was never more true then with hat burning.
4. Do a test print to make sure the design fits the way you want it. If the design doesn't fit your hat, adjust the design then do another test print. Continue the process until you get the design the size you want it.

WILL WIDE BRIM DESIGNS WORK ON NARROW BRIM HATS AND VICE VERSA?

No. Our designs are specific to either narrow brim hats or wide brim hats. However, many of our designs can be cut apart to create a new design that will work on either style hat. As a rule of thumb, if the design says it’s for a narrow brim hat, that is the style hat you will need.

WHAT SIZE ARE THE DESIGNS?

Wide brim hats are designed on a 16" x 16" canvas.
Narrow brim hats are designed on a 12" x 12" canvas.

Designs are not edge to edge when printed to allow a margin for printers.

Hats vary in size. Our designs will usually need tweaking to lay out correctly on a hat. The amount of tweaking will depend upon the size of the hat.
