A wonderful rich, deep and earthy scent that gently cleanses. Called "milk" for the milky appearance when Gum of Benjamin is added, Virgin's Milk was widely found at every woman's vanity used as a daily elixir for the skin. It was advertised as "giving one an ivory complexion and softens all faces smooth". Apothecaries sold in many varieties, including rose, thistle, lavender, and frankincense, among others. I am pleasantly surprised by how little ingredients there are yet how soft it leaves my skin in our line of milks. Apply with a cotton pad or cloth square after cleansing face. Packaged in a glass bottle with a screw cap.

The original recipe calls for Balm of Gilead, a wonderful, nourishing bud from Poplar trees. We gather it here in the late winter for use in our balms and salves. Instead of using an oil, which can sometimes contain fillers if commercially purchased, we have instead infused the buds into the milk. Upon arrival, your milk may look cloudy - after sitting, it can clear; however, please shake before using to incorporate the frankincense tears and essential oils.

No yucky stuff! We are sulfate, palm oil, propylene glycol and petroleum byproducts free. Please use within 6 months of opening. Sunlight can darken color of rosewater. For longer shelf life keep refrigerated.

A family farm since 1999, Second Chance Farm Sanctuary is the Leclerc homestead located in Ashby, Ma. Sustainable and chemical-free practices are used including rotational grazing, herbal worming, vermiculture and natural composting - we would simply have it no other way.

Mother Nature knows best...
We believe in simple, nourishing ingredients. Many herbs are grown on the farm for use in our solar infusions along with honey, beeswax and pollen. Wild foraging in our woods yields witch hazel, mushrooms, peppermint, pine resin and many other nourishing treats.

All body products are developed and tested from the ground up. We do not purchase premade bases - this only takes away from the joy of creating... and knowing our product is indeed pure. All products are lovingly made in small batches. No synthetic fillers, sulfate, palm oil, propylene glycol and petroleum byproduct are used.

About our animals:
Some have come to us through farm rescues, others due to neglect, some through an owners death and some left on our doorstep.

We have loved deaf and blind sheep, a sweet hen found in a roadside trash bag, a pregnant, undernourished goat with mange and fed baby squirrels with a syringe.

Our animals are allowed to wander as they please. Regardless of how they became part of our farm, they live out their lives happy and healthy with endless hugs...
as it should be.
