This pen is designed with a unique lattice design which is intricate and lightweight, yet incredibly strong and durable. It's manufactured from titanium using an additive manufacturing (a.k.a 3D printing) process which melts together metal powder particles with a laser. This unique writing instrument is only possible with additive manufacturing!
The Aether pen is comfortable to write with and has a satisfying click when retracted. It's not only functional, it's an art piece for your desk. The futuristic, yet elegant aesthetic is sure to spark conversation wherever you set it down.
The cap is retracted by pressing the clip into the body of the pen. The pen uses Pilot G2 refills. To remove the cap to replace the cartridge, simply retract the pen and then use a small pointed object to depress the cap from it's second window position (above the "nub" on the underside of the clip). For those that the weight of a pen is important it is 15 g including my ink cartridge. Due to its' design, it is back weighted because of the clip and solid structure there to enable the click mechanism. The design is intuitive and robust, easy to write with and beautiful (especially with the blue anodizing I got on mine). However, the click is not satisfying, it scrapes, but the release button makes up for it when it comes to satisfying sound and feel. This pen does take Zebra Sarasa cartridges with minimal tip wiggle (only one angle has any give on the tip). There was some issues during shipping with my package and Justin was on point, communicative, and all around fantastic with the entire process. Thank you again!
Incredible pen and craftsmanship. Very simple design but great to use. I find myself just staring at the pen and following the web construction for long periods of time it’s great!
