Cynthia Chuang Jewelry 10 Fish Brooch Collectible Artisan Piece

ITEM DESCRIPTION: Whether you’re already a collector of this artists work or just stopped by because of the great look of this brooch, you have just landed what may just be the most whimsical fishy in the sea! Created by the artist Cynthia Chuang, under her own label “Jewelry 10”, this fish brooch is a tiny treasure indeed. Working in a modernistic fashion, she uses a variety of materials and techniques to create her wearable art. From hard fired porcelain ceramics to colorful enamels and gold and silver leaf, wired and beaded, her works are always eye catching pieces of high style and flair. This fish, a clownfish, triggerfish or tang, is certainly no exception to the rule. Full of playful whimsy, depth and detailed design, it has a look instantly recognizable as this artists work. Some describe it as Post Modern, Punk or even Steampunk, but I just call it wonderful. The sheer detail of the design makes me smile - I mean just look at the pictures! No matter the angle - those eyes are following you around! Crazy good. Again, whether you already collect her works, or are a fish collector, aquarist, enjoy artisan jewelry, modernistic design or just because you like it - this is one cool ichthyologic critter! It’s downright sick with the Ich! Signed on the reverse with her Jewelry 10 hallmarked signature, the pin back is the standard craft pin with rollover clasp. This is a no brainer of a brooch really, as more people are buying these pieces up off of the secondary markets, her pieces are beginning to rack up higher and higher valuations. I’m of the belief that when I get a good deal, I pass that along to you. And though I paid up a bit, I think I have left enough cheddar on the plate for all to benefit. Cheers Cricketeers! SIZE: This eye catching piece is roughly 2 1/4- 2 1/2” depending upon orientation and how you measure the beaded wire accents.

CONDITION: In good vintage condition showing minimal wear overall. I see no breaks, no chips or fleabites. The beaded wire tail set is intact with no bends or breaks and no signs of loss to beadwork. The colors are deeply saturated with gold leaf outlines, intact. The pin back is adhered via an adhesive and the rolling clasp is intact and functional. As with any of my higher end pieces, I have included a rubber stay on the pin stem. This acts as a secondary safety mechanism to prevent loss during wear. Simpky remove as you pin onto the fabric and then replace it before closing the roller clasp. This way, even if the clasp inadvertently opens, you won’t lose the brooch! I highly recommend this hack for all brooches. I also recommend using the zoom feature to view all photos and decide whether you agree with my assessment or not because our ideals may vary.
