This artisan-crafted ceramic table lamp is lovingly made from recycled clay. It belongs to the "Terre & Lumière" (Earth & Light) collection, where light takes on the role of colour.
A glimmer of hope for stormy days. A beacon illuminating the beauty of life's intricate design.
I have engraved a French word inside this ceramic lamp. You have to be curious to find out. It is like a secret to be preserved. In this piece, I've engraved the words "sur le chemin" (on the path). The symbol in the front of the ceramic lamp represents the syllable VUUU, inspired by the Inuktitut syllabic alphabet. There is so much to see along the way. The destination is not always so important!
This ceramic lamp can be placed in the living room, bedroom, or office. It lights up to remind you of the value of emotions so that you do not lose the path to positive thinking.

FAQS
- How do I clean the lamp?
Clean the surface with a damp cloth.
- How should I care for this ceramic lamp to maintain its shine?
Apply wax every 3 to 6 months. I use Carnauba Polish from Gilly's. But any wax for concrete or stone will do the job.
- How to apply wax?
Clean the surface with a damp cloth.
Using a clean, lint-free cloth, rub the wax on the surface. Buff back with another cloth or buffing pads. Apply 2_3 coats sparingly—buff between coats. Allow 30 mins between coats.
- Can the lamp be used outdoors?
Yes, it can. However, due to firing at low temperatures, ceramic remains porous. Polishing and waxing protect it. However, in the long term, humidity may change the colour and solidity of the piece.
- Can the LED spotlight be replaced if needed?
Yes, you can find the same one at IKEA.
- Why did you use recycled clay?
Recycling clay is a beautiful process. When making a vase, lamp or sculpture, your workspace is inevitably messy with many clay fragments of different sizes. Whether big or tiny, all these pieces are meant to be crumbled and rehydrated, ready for a new creation!
This is why I constantly experience this remarkable feeling that the clay gives me. The capacity to shape, mould and start again is endless: a truly generous collaboration. It takes time, but it's, again, really rewarding.
Why did you choose to polish your pieces?
The art of polishing, adopted by ancient civilisations, seals clay vessels. I enjoy the aesthetic aspect of this process, as it results in pieces with a sleek, satin finish that is visually appealing and so pleasant to the touch. Although it takes time and patience, the result is truly rewarding!
- How long does the hand-polishing process take?
Polishing is done at several stages of the clay. A first polishing when the clay is not yet completely dry. Depending on the size of the piece, this can last between 30 minutes to an hour. The next day, I polished again.
Then, I wait for the clay to dry completely before starting again—longer this time. For VUUU, I had to spend more than 4 hours in total.
- Why did you choose a single low-temperature firing for the ceramic?
For 2 reasons. The first is environmentally friendly by reducing excess electrical use.
The second is to preserve the shine of the polishing. At higher temperatures, it disappears!
