These sweet, Small nature-made, long - fringed, fancy Bur Oak acorn caps were collected this fall without the acorn so the squirrels could have food for the winter.

These are fancies, which means they have a smaller acorn attached to their caps.

With openings measuring approximately 1 to 1 1/8 inch (2.5 - 2.9 cm), these natural, dry acorn caps are perfect for using in fall craft projects. Size designation is in comparison to other caps from same tree.

Please be aware that the fringe is delicate and some may fall off during shipping and while you work with them. The same goes for the small acorn, but you can glue that back on.

The bur oak is sometimes called the mossy cup oak, a name that refers to the fringe around the edge of the acorn cap. Usually the cup covers about half of the nut, but occasionally the cap will be so large that only the tip of the nut sticks out of the fringe.
