Heirloom Anthology is a series of mixed media sketches and paintings derived from collections of keepsakes. Christine Hilbert uses a hybrid of techniques including pencil drawings and watercolors combined with a cache of heirloom bits and baubles to create a two dimensional archive of memory. Part illustration, part collage, part photograph, they preserve and commemorate these treasured pieces, taking them from family collections to an heirloom anthology. Once photographed, each collection can then be transformed into a piece of custom made jewelry, further reviving these antiquated tokens. Custom anthologies can be created by request.
