Highlights

NPD typically stands for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It is a mental health condition characterized by a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. Individuals with NPD often have an inflated sense of self-importance, a preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love, and a belief that they are special and unique. They may exploit others to achieve their own goals, have difficulty maintaining healthy relationships, and struggle with criticism or perceived slights. NPD can have significant impacts on a person's personal, social, and professional life, and therapy is often recommended for treatment.
