Printing & Framing - ONLINE SERVICES

Printing and framing your artwork is a breeze with professional online services. Simply upload your file, choose your preferred materials, and select the perfect size. For a streamlined, all-in-one experience, I recommend the following online merchants for best results: U.S.: finerworks.com / framebridge.com Canada: posterjack.ca / pictorem.com U.K.: theprintspace.co.uk Europe: beyondprint.eu They may offer an overwhelming number of options. For the best results, look under Fine Art Prints or Giclée Printing and select a premium matte paper stock, like Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 GSM and Hahnemühle Matte German Etching 310 GSM.

Printing & Framing - LOCAL PRINT SHOPS

For in-person assistance and expert guidance, local print shops are a great option—especially those specializing in giclée printing for museum-quality results. Chains like Staples and Office Depot may offer quick and affordable poster printing, but the results often lack the depth, color accuracy, and longevity of professional prints. For the best quality, look for a local print shop specializing in giclée printing. These shops use archival papers, pigment-based inks, and precise color calibration to produce museum-quality prints. A quick search for “giclée printing near me” can help you find the best option in your area. Always ask for paper samples and test prints before committing to a large order.

Printing & Framing - AT HOME

If you want instant results and full control, printing at home is a great option. You need a printer that can produce archival-quality prints (Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-310 is perfect; Epson EcoTank ET-8550 is budget-friendly) and a high-quality, acid-free, heavyweight white paper with a matte finish, at least 170 GSM in weight. My favorite papers are Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 GSM and Hahnemühle Matte German Etching 310 GSM. For a budget-friendly option, you can also consider Hahnemühle Photo Rag 188 GSM or Epson Ultra Premium Matte Presentation Paper.

Aspect ratio vs. Size

You may have noticed in my listings that most of my artwork comes in different aspect ratios, and I always note which sizes can be printed from each one. Here’s what that means: Aspect ratio = shape. It’s the relationship between width and height. A 2:3 ratio means the short side is always 2 parts and the long side is 3 parts. Size = how big you print it. For example, 8x12 and 24x36 are both 2:3 ratio. Same shape, different scale. When in doubt about which file to use for printing: look in the listing description, find the size you want, and check the aspect ratio listed just above it. Then choose the file with that ratio in the name (e.g. abstract-2-3.jpg). That way you’ll know you’re using the right file for the size you want.

A stunning vintage original gouache painting by the legendary fashion designer, Paul Poiret. The colorful bird painting was created at his decorative arts workshop in Paris--an exclusively female workshop that championed young women and their artistic expression through nature-inspired designs.

Poiret's vibrant creations transcended the canvas, becoming printed fabrics for the "Martine" boutique he opened in 1911. Now, you can own a piece of this artistic and sartorial legacy!

This original gouache painting would be a perfect addition to any maximalist decor, bringing a burst of color and life to your space. It could also be a delightful and whimsical piece for a nursery. Don't miss this opportunity to own a unique artwork with a fascinating historical connection to the world of fashion and design!

If using an outside merchant, check with them for their recommendations on paper type and weight.
