Sterling silver tarnishes, especially when exposed to salt air and products containing sulfur, such as rubber bands and some papers. However, silver that is regularly used typically needs less care, so LotusJewellery strongly encourages you to wear your silver every day.

Using a small silver jewelry cleaner on a soft cloth, gently rub the silver several times. Then rinse the silver thoroughly in warm water and carefully dry. This will remove the tarnish and dullness, keeping your sterling silver like new. Please note: chlorine and bleach accelerate tarnishing and should be avoided.

Take care to protect your jewelry from impact against hard surfaces and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces.

You will need two bowls of warm water. Mix a bit of dish soap into one of the bowls. Again, the amount will depend on how much jewelry you are planning to clean, but don't get hung up on how much soap or water to add. Your only goal is to make the water slightly soapy so it will help clean your rings.

Dip your toothbrush into the soapy water and scrub your sterling silver ring, gemstone, and all. Make sure you get any dirt or lotion sitting behind the gem or along with its corners.

When you're done scrubbing, dip the ring into your other bowl of warm water to rinse it off. Then pat it dry with a towel.

Gold-plated jewelry is a thin layer of gold alloy that’s bonded to a base metal like brass, steel, copper, or sterling silver. The reason there is a base metal is that gold-plating mimics the look of fine gold jewelry without the price tag. In other words, there’s only a tiny slice of real gold in the jewelry.

How long the piece will last depends on how often the item is worn, the conditions when worn and how thick the plating is. Most of our Gold-Plated jewelries are heavy Gold-plated. However, the Gold color will eventually wear off as it comes into contact with the wearer's skin, salts, or pollutants in the air.
