These shaded green and white gemstone rondelles are a wonderful range of light, pastel, and white. All colors are light and bright, perfect for both pastel, subdued, or candy colored palettes. Beads in these strands have some variation in size within the 8mm to 8.5mm range, and may also be +/- up to .25mm in a few beads here and there.
These are hand cut, hand drilled rondelles with characteristic variations in bead size and shape and hole size and placement.

Bead Snob Notes:
Cord Sizing: I like a Size 5 with these, even if I need to enlarge some holes.
On Bead Reaming: These are opals. They're soft. They ream easily. If you do a lot of hand knotting, get yourself a bead reamer and some spare diamond bits. They are pretty resilient to pressure, so this type of opal is great for getting the feel for how to use a reamer. If you've got questions about brands, shoot me a message.
Gauged Wire: It seems like a 22 gauge wire scales well with these for wrapped loops. Some beads may accommodate up to a 20 gauge.
Gem Geek™ Notes:
These are natural opal. Specifically, natural *common* opal. The distinction between common and precious being whether or not there is play of color. When I say "natural", I'm drawing the distinction between rough material that comes out of the ground and the rough material created in a lab or a factory. These have been dyed to get the glorious blue colors that *do* naturally occur in common opal, but get very pricey in premium colors.
Dye: I vet dyed material carefully for color stability both long and short term. I can’t guarantee that things will last in perpetuity or that some excess dye may not be on material, but I *do* have extra steps in place to help make sure that the products I carry will last well with proper care.
Opal Is A Soft Stone. It is more likely to be scratched than most other stones we use. Please be aware of how you store your beads and finished piece and with what. If you're not sure of best practices for care and keeping, shoot me a message.
