This handmade ceramic vase can bring joy to various corners of your home—adorn the fireplace, grace the sideboard, or take centre stage on the dining table. Its charm is heightened when enriched with an array of flowers or branches. I am fond of the branches I gather from my garden ;-)
This decorative vase is the second of the collection "Earth & Light". Its round form reminds me of the passing of time. Each hour has to be enriched by beauty. Crafted from stoneware, this ceramic pot has undergone meticulous polishing and has been fired once at approximately 1,000 degrees. Each trace and irregularity is a poetic testimony of its artisanal origin.

FAQS
- Is this vase waterproof?
Yes, I've sealed it with a ceramic sealer.
- How should I clean this ceramic vase? HOW SHOULD I CLEAN THIS POLISHED VASE?
Clean the outside surface with a damp cloth.
Clean the inside with water and soap.
- How should I care for this ceramic vase to maintain its shine?
Apply wax every 3 to 6 months. I use Carnauba Polish from Gilly's. But any wax for concrete or stone will do the job.
- How to apply wax,
Clean the surface with a damp cloth
Using a clean, lint-free cloth, rub the wax on the surface. Buff back with another cloth or buffing pads. Apply 2_3 coats sparingly. Buff between coats. Allow 30 mins between coats.
- Why did you choose to polish your pieces?
Ancient civilisations adopted the art of polishing to seal clay vessels. I enjoy the aesthetic aspect of this process, which results in pieces with a sleek, satin finish that is visually appealing and so pleasant to the touch. Although it takes time and patience, the result is truly rewarding!
- How long does the hand-polishing process take?
Polishing is a multi-step process. The first round lasts 30 minutes to an hour on partially dry clay, followed by another session the next day. Then, I wait until the clay is completely dry before meticulously polishing again for at least an hour.
- Why did you choose a single low-temperature firing for this ceramic lamp?
For 2 reasons. The first is environmentally friendly by reducing excess electrical use. The second is to preserve the shine of the polishing. At higher temperatures, it disappears!
