We are MOCFOR — a carpentry workshop in Fahrdorf near Schleswig. We build this shelf from recycled teak that is already sixty to one hundred years old: as barn beams, floorboards, or boat planks. It's built with an open design to allow air to circulate.

Rainbow — boards covered with old paint remnants, a colorful mix. No two shelves are alike.
WHY RECLAIMED WOOD IN THE KITCHEN
The wood has dried completely over decades. It hardly continues to warp or expand, even in areas where cooking takes place and humidity levels constantly fluctuate. New wood takes years to dry out.
WHAT YOU SEE
Cracks, knots, old nail holes, paint remnants. They stay. We don't sand them away—that's precisely what distinguishes genuine reclaimed wood from new wood that's been made to look old. That's why your shelf will look different from the one in the photo.

During shipping, a small corner on the lower inner edge broke off, but I was able to easily reattach it, so it's not visible. Perfect for organizing fresh fruit and saving space with a rustic touch.
