Copper gardening tools are great for growing veggies, flowers, and fruits. They look nice and work well because copper is a special metal that, unlike iron and steel, is said to help the soil hold on to water, and leave tiny bits of copper in the soil, making plants grow better.

Copper tools are a pleasure to use and practical too. Light and comfortable to hold, long lasting because they don't rust, and with a narrow edge that cuts easily through soil and soft plant roots without getting stuck. And if you do knock it out of shape doing some over-enthusiastic digging (we all get carried away in the garden sometimes!) it's not difficult to knock it back into shape with a hammer and a rounded stone.

These trowels are ideal for anyone interested in "no dig" gardening, the ideas of Viktor Schauberger or someone who just wants to take a more natural, nurturing approach to growing things in their plot of land.

The trowel comes with a coloured grip of your choice. You can also upgrade by adding a set of copper Plant Markers, complete with permanent marker and a swab of wire wool for "rubbing out" the pen marks so your labels can be used again and again.

Each trowel will show signs of tool marks where I have taken a hammer and anvil to them in order to shape the head. I consider these to be a feature rather than a fault, and I hope that you will too. I have been using my trowel for three years now and it has happily stood up to most general gardening tasks without complaint.

Your trowel will come in a cardboard box with wood shaving packaging and the bare minimum of plastic tape to keep the box closed on its journey.
