Carved Wall Hangings - Is the design painted on the wood? Or is it a sticker?

Actually, the design is carved/engraved directly into the wood. The very light colour you see is the interior of the birch plywood which shows in contrast to the painted surface of the wood. The result is a piece of carved wood wall art that is of modern heirloom quality. It will last for years, if not decades, with a little basic care. This basic care includes occasional dusting with a dry, clean cloth and hanging/placing the sign indoors (unless specified as an outdoor item).

What kind of paint do you use?

Before the wood is carved/engraved, we apply two coats of matte, high-quality, scuff-resistant paint, with a full sanding between coats. This ensures a beautiful, smooth finish which will look great for years.

What is a horizontal keyhole and how will it make my life easier?

All of our pieces come with a keyhole hanger. Smaller pieces have a vertical keyhole hanger. Larger pieces come complete with a brilliant little horizontal keyhole hanger (or two hangers, depending on the piece). This adjustable keyhole ensures that your new carved wood wall art is always hanging straight. After hanging your piece, simply move the wood wall art side to side to adjust. It's super easy! No more crooked artwork!

What does eco-friendly packaging mean? Do you offer gift wrapping?

📦 Eco-Friendly Packaging: ******************************* For us, eco-friendly packaging means using paper-based, recyclable wrapping materials as much as possible. We want to reduce our footprint with our packaging, not leave a ton of plastic in our wake. From the unbleached, Kraft wrapping paper each piece is wrapped in to the Kraft logo tape on our boxes, all of our packaging is paper-based and recyclable. 🎁 Gift Wrapping: ***************** Yes, whether you like it or not! 😊 All of our pieces are carefully wrapped in simple Kraft paper, sealed with a logo sticker and securely packaged in a box with our logo tape on the exterior. Please note that the logo on the outside of the box may give away the contents.

Can you include a personalized message?

Yes, we'd be happy to include a short, hand-written message on your behalf. The message will be written on a postcard with our logo printed on the front. Please include the details in the note on your order. We'll reach out if we need clarification.

I'd like a JOINT CASE but I'm curious... Will the outside of the shipping box say "joint case" on it?

No worries, friend! If we're shipping it to the USA, your parcel's customs form will say "Solid wood box with lid." 😊

Are the solid wood joint cases smell proof?

This joint case will definitely reduce any odours or aromas coming from inside. It has a snug-fitting lid and a secure magnetic closure which work together to contain odours quite well. It is not 100% "smell proof" like a plastic preroll tube but it does a great job of not giving away the contents! And it looks way better and is nicer to the planet! 🌎
