Introducing the S5 Relay, a solar powered Meshtastic LoRa Relay System, designed for seamless, autonomous operation as a relay station only (only connect a device via Bluetooth to update settings - you will still need a personal LoRa Meshtastic device Bluetooth tethered to your phone, i.e. the S5 Trekker, S5 Beacon, S5 Copilot, S5 MeshClip, S5 MiniTrekker, etc.). Built for rugged, permanent installation on poles, buildings, or towers, this system ensures reliable communication in remote areas or anywhere an expansive network is required.

Imagine you have a small group of people all using personal Meshtastic LoRa devices to communicate in a 2-3 mile range. Now there's another camp 10 miles away you'd like to connect with. That other camp is also using personal devices to transmit in a 2-3 mile range. If you erect an S5 Relay at each base camp, the relays will allow comms between camps without having to station smaller devices in between.

Powered by a 12 W solar panel, paired with two 18650 LiPo batteries, our relay station operates indefinitely without intervention. The low-power consumption of the LoRa radio, combined with efficient solar charging, guarantees uninterrupted functionality in even the most challenging (solar) conditions.

Equipped with a large antenna optimized for long-range transmission, our relay station extends coverage up to 10 miles with line of sight, facilitating robust connectivity across vast distances. The waterproof enclosure, complete with cable glands, safeguards the radio from harsh weather conditions while allowing seamless passage of wires.
