Rare original hardcover jewelry book from 1910 by Black, Starr and Frost. "Through 100 Years BS&F 1810-1910", The Hundredth Anniversary of the Oldest Retail Jewelry House in New York, Together With Some Facts as to its Different Departments
The item for sale is a very rare original hardcover publication from 1910, titled “Through 100 Years BS&F 1810-1910” created and published by the jewelry and silverware firm of Black, Starr and Frost in 1910. It is approximately 6 inches high by 4.5 inches wide. So far I’ve only found one other by searching online, and it was in distinctly worse condition than the one I am offering here. That other can be viewed on Abe Books at https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=30863047163&searchurl=an%3Dblack%2Bstarr%2Bfrost%2Bincorporated%2Bnew%26sortby%3D17&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title8 .
It is bound within a gold color natural fiber weave over cloth boards. It has a brown leather and gold gilt title block on the front cover, gold gilt page edges, fourteen mounted color illustrations of jewelry and silver products, and approximately 50 total pages including 10 blank or non-numbered pages. There is damage to the woven covering on one part of the spine. Aside from this, the book is in very good condition. The inside condition appears almost as if the book has never been opened by anyone but me while I was preparing this listing. It is a handmade luxury quality publication intended for the company’s well-to-do patrons and has a charming almost quaint look and feel of an earlier and very different time.
NOTE: This antique vintage book will appear differently with varying lighting and viewing conditions. I have included images to try and show this. I strive to provide images that show what I actually see in various lighting and viewing conditions.

From Black, Starr & Frost at https://blackstarrfrost.com/1810-book/ :
“From kings to Carnegies, royalty to Rockefellers, princes to presidents, museums to Marilyn, Black, Starr & Frost, America’s First Jeweler Since 1810 has served American elite with exceptional jewels and gracious service since the earliest days of American history, and well before any other jewelry brand was even conceived. Today, Black, Starr & Frost is the oldest, continuously operated jewelry firm in the country. The men who lead this iconic brand were trailblazers and innovators, bringing many firsts to the world of luxury and fine jewelry, starting in New York City and ultimately expanding to 33 locations a century and a half later.
