A superb antique French quilt, 19th century ~ this lovely quilt has two patterns, one a floral and the other a stripe!~ The floral side has many holes so may have been used as the back? The white ground patterned stripe side also has a damaged middle area ~ so perhaps they swaped around! The design on each side is lovely ~ the floral side fabric dates c1860 and the stripe a bit earlier, perhaps 1840's -50's ~ There is a light cotton batting between the layers. It's 100% hand stitched and hand quilted! ~ A lovely find ~ This is an ideal quilt for anyone that loves the signs of time and use the way I do!~ ( reflected in the price )


MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approx. 68 inches by approx. 59 inches.

CONDITION: Freshly laundered and ready to love! Each side has some pale marks Please use the zoom feature to view the exact condition . Each side has that stain at the bottom edge. There are many many holes on the floral side, it received the most wear and some holes too on the stripe side. They are pale, but they are there. Perhaps this quilt can be spot treated ! Signs of time and use often inherent in these 19th century antiques!~ Only suitable for someone that enjoys the signs of time and use ~
