This option allows you to place an 8" or 12" inline fan directly on top of the kit. If you want to attach a duct flange to the top of the filter and attach the inline fan to a wall or ceiling, you will need this kit instead: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1704360197/model-b-no-fan-edition

Please specify at purchase time in the "note to seller" box what fan size you intend on using (either 8" or 12"). The hole in the top of the kit will be different for each fan. These listings only allow 2 option boxes and this kit needs 3 options.

The CFM (airflow rating, cubic feet per minute) listed above factors in restriction created by the filters.

The design works with any brand of filter but 3M Filtrete brand filters preform the best in my tests. MERV 13 or MERV 14 filters are highly recommended. You will need 4 total filters for this kit. If you buy in bulk, the prices are better. The larger the filter, the more economical it tends to be. Large filters are also more efficient when filled with dust. Choose the largest filter that you can fit into your space.

These fans do not have an ON/OFF switch. You can plug them into a power strip and use the switch to turn the fan on or off or use a speed controller.
